MANUEL-TURIZO
Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him enter mainstream Latin music. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Favorite Song in 2017. His debut album was a long-player ADN to the Medellin-based company Sony, which is distributed by La Industria Inc. The album reached number 8 within the Top Latin Albums Chart. The following year, he teamed up with Ozuna to make Vaina Loca, which was a Top Five hit. In 2020 he released the chart-topping sophomore album Dopamina as well as co-produced Mala Influencia with Noriel. In 2021, he also performed the duet for TINI's streaming popular single Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was raised in a musical household his mother and older brother are both musicians. In his interviews, he's described participating in music as compulsory. In his childhood he was taught how to perform on the piano, saxophone as well as guitar. His first career choice was to become a vet But his older brother Julian was able to convince him singing with a Cuban instructor. The end result, finding out that he was blessed with the ability to sing, altered the direction of his life.
